better look, or you won't see.

Tonight I made a pit stop and found this.
Almost missed it...and to think, it happens every single day!

A few days ago I talked with my good friend Ali, who lives in Kenya, and she said to me
"Tana, I hope you can just make time to do some of the things you love...running, surfing, reading, whatever it is."
Sunsets...one of the things I love most.
Thanks Ali.

happy birthday america!

a few snapshots from the 4th.
we spent the day biking around to all the monuments, eating hot dogs, visiting the capitol, and then watching an awesome fireworks show!
I am loving DC!!
I haven't felt so American....we'll maybe never.

guinea pig on a leash.
Attack on Kenya Church

Africa Inland Church (AIC) is the church founded by the organization I went to Kenya with - Africa Inland Mission (AIM). There are AIC churches all throughout Africa.

I know people that live in Garissa, where this attack took place.
So sad.

she walked, rowed, berried, and dreamed to her heart's content.

I really like this article. I especially like #1, 5, and 8.

One of my biggest challenges over the past 6 months has been exactly what this article is touching on.
I don't want my life to be adventurous just for the sake of being adventurous. But something about being overseas - it was easier to remember people > tasks, easier to give without restrain, easier to be thankful.

"Settling down without settling."

Someone I look up to very much once told me, "Tana...live unsettled."
some of the best advice I've ever received.

happy july!
