muy agradecido
Here's a short video clip, just playing with the ninos. I was teaching them how to use the camera. Or better, attempting to teach them. ha.
Really great things happening here.
God is good.

whirlwind.
I want to run on greener pastures
My soul is getting restless for the place where I belong
That’s right world! I’ve started a blog. Crazy, I know.
But in light of recent events in my life, I thought it might be a good thing. I moved to Colorado and am 1,000+ miles away from most of you, and it’s hard to keep in touch, blah blah, you get the idea.
I’ve been blessed with some awesome experiences this summer, and thought why not share them with the people I love? So that’s the purpose of this blog. Updates, thoughts, maybe some pics and vids here and there. I really like writing anyways, and do it often, so why not share some of it.
Currently I have a million thoughts going through my head…perhaps a bad place to be for my first blog entry.
I’ve traveled to Dallas, Baton Rouge, Colorado Springs, Denver, Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Skagway, Ketchikan, Canada, in the mountains, to the sea, in a box, and with a fox….over 9,000 miles. And Saturday I’m flying to Los Angeles then heading to Ensenada, Mexico.
A little different than last summer…I wasn’t in a 24ft Penske truck for any of these trips! ☺
So I feel like there is so much I could write.
I feel incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to see and experience some really interesting things. The world really is a beautiful place.
The summer has definitely had it’s challenges though. Moving out here because I felt the Lord say “Go”, but with no real plan or agenda. I have a hard time when I’m not super busy or have something set before me to work on…but this summer has taught me a lot in that area. To find my worth in the fact that I am a daughter of the King…and that is enough.
But there has been many-a-day I’ve asked myself, “What the heck are you doing out here? In Colorado without a job or a plan??”
I’m just trying to be obedient. I’m willing to take my chances and see where that gets me. ☺
I believe the Lord took me out to Colorado for specific reasons – not the ones I expected. He has me here to show me things I’m not sure I’d seen otherwise. (I’ll save that for a later blog)
Mexico, eh? Yep. I decided yesterday to go. I am going with Phillip Harrelson and his church, The Journey Church, in West Palm Beach, FL. It’s all happened so fast, but its just crazy how it’s all just fallen into place. I’m excited for hundreds of reasons. I’ve talked about traveling abroad with Phillip for the past 8 years basically. It’s crazy that it’s actually happening. The Harrelson’s are very, very special to me….been there for all the big things in my life. They are definitely in my top favs of all time. Yep, I said it.
Reason dos (that’s Spanish for “two”; I gotta brush up ☺): I am getting to film the entire trip! I’m going to be the videographer for the group…so going with people I love very much doing something I also love very much.
“Thankful” doesn’t do it justice.
I’m anxious and hopeful because this is basically all I want to do in life: travel abroad, filming, loving peeps.
I can't wait to see what God does. From what I've been told - it's bound to be a great trip.
As of right now the plan is to update while I’m gone, if not from this site, I’ll post the site you can find updates on. I should be posting some video throughout the trip.
This past Wednesday was my brother’s birthday. Caleb would’ve been 25. The past few days I’ve been thinking about him constantly. I miss him terribly. It seems whenever new or exciting things happen in my life, I really long for him to be here, to share my life with. I’d give anything to sit and watch MXC, sippin some Dr. Pepper with him…ha. I’ve said it a million times, but it’s so hard to love someone so deeply and to no longer have any tangible way to express that. Really hard. His headstone finally got put in this past week too. I want to book a flight home tonight so I can see it, but I know it’s just a piece of stone. I’m not sure if I’m ready to see his name engraved on it. Maybe you never really become “ready” for those types of things.
Tonight I was really missing him. So I went for a long run. Running is one of the best (and one of my favorite) ways for me to think and process things. I listened to the cd that was played at his wake. Maybe that sounds weird, but I actually listen to it a lot when I run. It is oddly comforting.
It’s crazy because when I hear those songs and remember that weekend, it seems like it was yesterday. I never want to forget. I’ve never experienced anything like that…the closest I’ve ever come to the Kingdom on earth. It’s so humbling and encouraging and ridiculous to think about how in my darkest hours the Love of God lifted me in ways I’d never thought possible.
I long for Heaven. After experiencing something like that, there is part of me that knows and feels and lives in the reality that I am not created for here (hence the name of this blog, actually).
I feel like God is using a megaphone to speak to me right now.
I can’t run from His voice. And I can’t deny the purpose He’s set inside of me. I can’t be afraid.
See ya in Mexico, suckas.
