carry hope.

"now's the time for us to rise
and carry hope to hopeless eyes
and show this world that mercy is alive

we're not afraid. we will abandon all
to hear your name on lips across the world
we will run in the wake of your love"

It's time!
I fly out tomorrow for Kenya!
I will be updating this blog a lot while I am gone. So feel free to check in now and then.
Hopefully I'll have some cool pictures and videos for you.

Not really sure what to think or how to "prepare". But I trust that the Lord has prepared me for this. He knew it was coming. :)
I will miss you all soooo much, but my prayer for all of us as I'm gone, is that we would simply be obedient to where God leads.
Whatever that looks like for you - that's my prayer.
Don't settle. And don't be afraid to "abandon all".
I think it's worth it.

Love yall.

So thankful,
Tana

In case your new around here, you can visit OFM's website for a better picture of what I'll be doing for the next 8 months!

closer.

i have a plane ticket to Nairobi, Kenya. with a return date that is very far from now.
:)

I leave South Florida on Friday. Crazy.
I will be spending some time at home with my family before I leave.
Last night they had a "going away" party for me. I was blown away by the love shown to me. Thank you so much for anyone who came. It really does mean so much to me.
I came here, never expecting to have been so impacted by the people I've met and the things I've seen.

Today - im just thankful. that's it.
Thankful for these people. Thankful for the job I was given for 8 months here. Thankful for the opportunity to go and serve in Africa for the next 8 months.
just thankful.
I'm completely undeserving.

Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table. And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste? For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor." But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial. Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.
Matthew 26:6-13

i can't get this passage out of my head.
i want to be like mary with the alabaster jar. to "waste" my life on Jesus.

I'm Mary Magdalene and tonight is a bottle of perfume
There's not enough dignity to hold me now
When I know your going to meet me here
There's not enough gravity
To keep me away from you

love yall!
i'll update more later. my time is limited...so I can't be wasting it on my computer screen. :)
