So many of you have followed this blog faithfully during my time in Kenya, and then here I get back to America and have been such a 'bad blogger'.
My apologies.
I have been so incredibly busy - just all over the place - I haven't spent much time in front of my computer.
But there is a lot to update on...I mean, I'm in the USA?!!
Crazy.
Right now, as I type this, I am sitting in a Starbucks. Outside the window in front of me, cars are zooming by and there is a Taco Bell, a gym, McDonalds, Rent-A-Center, Payless Shoes, a bank, a sports store, and a bunch of other stores.
So very different than what I was looking at a few weeks ago.
But even among all the "American-ness"... the transition home has been a good one.
Maybe it's because I have been spending a lot of time with family and friends I love, or maybe it's because I know I am going back to Kenya, or maybe it's because I just haven't begun to process anything and am just filling my days to keep my mind busy. ha.

I am thankful to be home. And yes, I miss Kenya, but I am finding much purpose in this season back in the States.
The new year kind of creeped up on me. It really feels like yesterday that I was starting 2011.
In my post on this day last year, I was feeling really anxious about moving overseas and talked about having a hard time waiting. Ha.
And here I sit, exactly one year later, and I am waiting again. This time feels different, but it's just funny how we go through certain seasons in life.
2011 was good to me. My time in Kenya was one of the sweetest seasons yet.
I learned a lot. And grew a lot.
And now being home, I am seeing that even more. Living in Africa, living alone, my job, all of it really showed me a lot about myself. kinda crazy.
Speaking of - today I had to do a personality test. Wow. Talk about a piece of paper describing me perfectly. It was a little scary.
I like things like that though because they really make you think about your strengths and weaknesses.
Some of the adjectives used to describe me....adventuresome, competitive, enthusiastic, gregarious, emotional, deliberate, amiable, outgoing, eager and then....arbitrary, rebellious, defiant, tactless, and sarcastic.
cool.
But clearly, not ALL of it is completely accurate. :)
I have lots to update about where/what I am doing now. But I'll save that for another post.
