inspiration.

It has been quite sometime since I worked on any videos.
There for awhile I was working all day and editing late into the night for North Africa video projects. Then when the MudRun got crazy, I didn't have time to edit. So my FCPX didn't open for several weeks.

Well, tonight I decided to dust it off and get busy. I am working on the Colombia videos for Compassion International.
But ya know, I was having a hard time getting back into the groove. So for some inspiration, I made a lil montage. I know...doesn't quite make sense to make a video to get inspired about making a video.
But I needed to be reminded of what I saw and heard and ultimately filmed during my few days there.

And wow - I forgot how powerful that trip was. Listening to sponsored children speak about being fed and clothed and given a chance to go to school, given something to hope for - all because someone chose to sponsor them.
Talk about perspective check for this girl tonight.

Anyways, maybe this short lil clip can serve as some inspiration for you too. Who knows.
It's nothing fancy, just some sweet moments we captured. I will post the finished videos as they come.

It's easy to get caught up in my world - in my needs, my wants, my happiness, me, me, me.
But I long to live for something greater than myself.
I long to see the world through eyes other than my own.

goodnight my friends.

lucky.

this is why I love my job.

excuse the poor audio, this is straight from the camera.
just wanted to show a glimpse of how incredibly sweet this little girl is.

we were filming a short section for the end of the videos I'm doing, where each person interviewed says a few short sentences in English. Many of them spoke no English - so it was fun working with them on this part!
I'm hoping the end result turns out well.
I got to film some really powerful stories. I can't wait to share them with you.

Colombia

if this doesn't make you smile, then well...you probably don't know how to smile!
(i especially love the kids at 4sec, 27, and 36!!)

I saw this video today and got super pumped!
I am actually going to Colombia on...Monday!! I am so excited and so thankful for this opportunity.
I am going with Compassion International to do some video work there with some sponsored children (like the ones in this video) and their families.
!!!!!
If you've been following the blog from the beginning, you know that I started this thing while I was in Colorado. I moved out there for several reasons, because Colorado is the best state in America, but also because I was interested in trying to pursue a job with Compassion. I ended up moving to South Florida only after a few months.
But I have always really believed in Compassion International and have seen first hand how their work in other countries really is changing lives.

All that to say, I'll be heading to South America in a few days!
I'll try and keep you posted!
excited, thankful, and hopeful.
